The Gartena patented solution builds partly on components that have proven to be the most effective and reliable in modern waste-2-energy plants and partly on combining them in a unique and patented system. The solution is then further refined to allow for even cleaner burning, better energy yield and a more reliable and easier to service plant.
The Gartena patented Rotating Kiln and Afterburning process ensures total incineration and combustion which gives a better waste-2-energy yield and makes a smaller impact on the environment than ANY OTHER COMPETITOR.
‘Rotating Kiln’ and a two step ‘Afterburner’ process
All municipal waste disposal require exceptionally responsible processing which focuses on the environmental consequences. Gartena addresses this problem through its patented technology which uses a ‘Rotating Kiln’ and a two step ‘Afterburner’ process.
The ‘Rotating Kiln’ and ‘After Burners’ technology enables the Gartena plant to operate at exceptionally high temperatures of 1,200 centigrade. Virtually every alternative W2E facility has a typical kiln incineration temperature of 900-950 centigrade.
This has very important consequences for policy makers, politicians and legislators when deciding upon which W2E technology to select.
Medical & Hazardous Waste Solution
Unique to Gartena, is the ability to completely incinerate so-called ‘medical waste’, which almost invariably is highly toxic and exceptionally dangerous.
The high temperature within the kiln completely eliminates all medical waste, with no toxic residues. Under normal procedures medical and hazardous waste is sent to landfill, where inevitably it languishes forever with all the consequent problems of potentially catastrophic leakage into the water table. It is also the most problematical and expensive stream of waste for hospitals and municipalities to satisfactorily deal with.
Gartena has the only W2E technology that solves this problem and converts exceptionally hazardous materials into valuable energy. Medical and hazardous waste is managed separately and is delivered to the plant under strict protocols to eliminate any cross contamination.
